一. 教材分析
本篇課文The language of honey bees 是新編英語(yǔ)教材第三冊(cè)的第14單元,是一篇科技性說明文。講述了一位科學(xué)家對(duì)蜜蜂交流食物信息途徑的研究。涉及到蜜蜂如何通過舞蹈?jìng)鬟f食物的遠(yuǎn)近和距離等內(nèi)容。就本單元Zoology而言,reading部分是本單元的中心,一方面有warming- up 和 speaking 當(dāng)中學(xué)到的有關(guān)動(dòng)物的知識(shí)為其作鋪墊,另一方面此課的學(xué)習(xí)又為下面的Primates 打下基礎(chǔ),使學(xué)生能在reading 中學(xué)到的關(guān)于動(dòng)物的信息和探索的科學(xué)方法,以及閱讀中獲得的閱讀技巧得到更好的應(yīng)用和發(fā)揮。就本冊(cè)教材而言前四個(gè)單元都是有關(guān)對(duì)自身極限和對(duì)自然界的探索,在第十單元又涉及到了成功的關(guān)鍵,這就為本課的學(xué)習(xí)奠定了情感基礎(chǔ)。另一方面,這是第十三單元的課文,已接近本冊(cè)書的結(jié)尾,所以在語(yǔ)言能力的各個(gè)方面學(xué)生也都有了一定的積累。因此,從內(nèi)容上看,本節(jié)課是對(duì)前面所學(xué)單元主題的再現(xiàn)與升華。本課的學(xué)習(xí)可以進(jìn)一步培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的探索能力,推理能力和空間的想象力。.
二.學(xué)生情況
相對(duì)而言,理科班的學(xué)生英語(yǔ)要弱一些,而本篇文章的很多句子和段落的語(yǔ)言不夠清晰明了,對(duì)他們來說是有一定的難度的。但由于本文涉及到了蜜蜂的舞蹈,是屬于動(dòng)物學(xué)的問題,從內(nèi)容上看應(yīng)該是理科班的學(xué)生更感興趣的話題。
為了使學(xué)生更好地理解本篇文章,達(dá)到教學(xué)目的,就必須通過將抽象的語(yǔ)言用圖片或動(dòng)畫表現(xiàn)出來以減小語(yǔ)言上給他們帶來的壓力,同時(shí)又要激發(fā)他們?cè)械膶?duì)動(dòng)物的興趣。

Knowledge objectives
1. Enable the students to know the communicating ways of bees.
2. Enable the students to understand how Professor Karl Von Frisch’s experiment is done.
Skill objectives:
1. Improve students’ reading ability, especially in exploring the implied information.
2. Improve students’ thinking ability, especially deducing.

Ⅰ.Leading in
1、Show a group of pictures of animals on the screen. Ask the students to speak out the names of the animals.
2、Ask the students to say as many proverbs or sayings containing the name of an animal as possible.
