[辨析] appear, seem & look
(1)appear是根據(jù)事物的表面現(xiàn)象而提出的判斷,暗含事實(shí)往往并非如此之意;
look指憑視覺(jué)印象而作出的判斷,實(shí)際上也可能如此。
(2)seem是指暗含有一定根據(jù),往往接近事實(shí)的判斷。它后面可以接名詞、形容詞、to be 結(jié)構(gòu),可以互換。
(3)look, seem之后可接like短語(yǔ),而appear不能,look可以用進(jìn)行時(shí),但appear, seem不能; look seem可以接as if (though)從句,而appear不能;appear, seem之后可接that從句,而look不能;appear, seem之后可接to do sth. 結(jié)構(gòu),而look不能; appear, seem 可用于there引導(dǎo)的結(jié)構(gòu)中, 而look不能。
