The First Period

---warming up, listening and speaking

Step 1. Warming up

Let the Ss look at the pictures on page 64.

Ask: Where were these pictures taken?

What are the things in the pictures called?

Have you tried any of the things?

If you haven't, what would you like to?

Why or why not?

Then ask the Ss to fill in the box using key words according to what they talked about and their opinion.

Step 2. Listening

First, ask some questions about the listening materials:

Is it good to have a theme park in a city?

What good will it do to the people in the city?

What kinds of theme park do you think our city should have?

What about a coastal city?

Second, listen to part 1 and finish exerise of part 1.

Third, listen to part 2 and finish the rest of questions.

Step 3. Speaking

First, choose one place from the map and let the Ss talk about it using the following questions:

Where is ...... ?

What do you think you can see there?

What can people do there?

How about ...... ?

Where can you go if you want to learn about ...... ?

What are some of the things sold in the souvenir shop?

Second, work in pairs. Prepare three role cards using the example on page 65, exchange cards with your partner and use the map to help your partner find the way to the attractions.

Finally, ask some pairs to act out.
