一、教學目標與要求
本單元是總復習。重點復習從19至23單元中所出現(xiàn)的語法項目和日常交際用語。學生應能在理解上述內(nèi)容的基礎上,熟練地運用這些語言知識,較為流利地進行表達。教師要重視學生的筆頭能力,重視學生綜合運用英語的能力。通過對課文的學習,學生能用自己組織的語言,將課文復述;正確完成練習冊安排的練習,為總復習打好基礎。

(一)對話課
Ⅰ.教具 錄音機、投影儀。
Ⅱ.課堂教學設計
1.向?qū)W生提出下列問題:1) What would you say if you want to say goodbye to some-body?2) What would you say if you have enjoyed your stay at a place? 3) What would you say if you wish somebody success?4) What would you say if you are satisfied with someone’s work?
2.準備放對話錄音。借助投影片打出以下聽前提問:1) When is Susan leaving? 2) How long has Susan studied in China?
放錄音一至兩遍,請學生回答上述問題,教師予以必要訂正。
1) She is leaving on Sunday.2) She has studied in China for two years.
3.再次放對話錄音,學生跟讀。將學生分為三人一組練習對話。數(shù)分鐘后,請兩三組同

Ⅰ.教具 錄音機、投影儀。
Ⅱ.課堂教學設計
1.檢查生詞及短語(為教學方便,可考慮將兩課并為一課進行閱讀理解)。
2.教師給出讀前提問:1) What are Zheng Jie’s future plans?2) What’s the biggest prob-lem with his plan? 3) When did Zheng Jie first meet Gary?
教師給學生數(shù)分鐘,要求學生快速閱讀課文,之后請同學回答上述問題。
Key:1) He is going to start a music school for children with disabilities.It will be a mixed school where not all the children are disabled.2) It will cost a lot of money and he hasn’t collected enough money yet. 3) Zheng Jie first met Gary at Charlie’s wedding in Paris.
3.放課文錄音,學生跟讀一遍。教師用投影儀打出以下各句,要求學生從課文中找出有關(guān)細節(jié)進行說明:
1) Zhengjie is a successful pianist.2) Zheng Jie wants to help the disabled children.3) It is difficult for Zheng Jie to collect money he needs.4) Zheng Jie is always ready to help others.5) Gary wants to live on his own.6) Mr. Brain is a kind businessman and wants to do something for children.
學生先在小組內(nèi)交流并相互啟發(fā)、補充,然后請學生在班上交流,教師予以講評。
4.討論題:1) Why do you think Zheng Jie was giving a lot of concerts? 2) Zheng Jie needed a lot of money. But why do you think the banks he spoke to were not interested in his plan?
學生先在小組內(nèi)討論。數(shù)分鐘后,學生在班上交流。教師不必規(guī)定答案,鼓勵學生積極發(fā)表自己的看法。
5.布置作業(yè) 1)將兩課內(nèi)容結(jié)合,講述這個故事;2)完成練習冊中所安排的練習。

1.教師檢查課文復述。
2.教師從本單元詞語中選擇部分常用詞語,配以例句介紹給學生。要求學生反復練習這些例句,并請同學造句,教師予以講評、訂正。

One possible version:
Mr.Brain went to hear Zheng Jie’s piano concert.He thought it was a great success and congratulated him. Then he asked him about his next plans. The pianist said that he was planning to start a school,where disabled children could go and learn music.He also said it was difficult to get enough money.Mr.Brain promised that he would ring him if he could find any support.About two weeks later,Zheng Jie went to London and paid a visit to Mr.Brain.Gary, the son of Mr. Brain, opened the door.When he recognized who Zheng Jie was, he was very excited. He told his father that it was this pianist that helped him out when he was in paris,earning a living as a painter.And he also mentioned that the pianist had lent him some money,but he had not repaid him.Later Dr. Brain told the pianist that he would like to support his music school and he had written a cheque for him, which had six zeros.

四、難句分析
1.It’s a pity you missed the sports meeting last week.很可惜,上周的運動會你錯過了。
It’s a pity(that)…是表示遺憾的交際用語,口語中that常可省略。例如:
It’s a pity I couldn’t come to your birthday party.很遺憾我沒能來參加你的生日聚會。
It’s a pity he didn’t finish college.他沒念完大學,真是遺憾。
2… none of the banks I spoke to were interested……我去找過的銀行沒有一家感興趣。
I spoke to是定語從句,修飾先行詞 banks,引導這個定語從句的關(guān)系代詞 which/that被省略了。
句中 none是代詞,意為:沒有一個,相當于: no one,常構(gòu)成none of…詞組。表示“(在……中)沒有一個人/物”或“(在……中)一個也沒有”的意思。當這個詞組作主語時,后面的謂語動詞既可用單數(shù),也可以用復數(shù)。但在側(cè)重表示“所有的人/物都不……”時,多用復數(shù)形式(如本句用were),而在表示“其中一個也不……”時,用單數(shù)形式更多些。例如:
None of us are perfect.我們大家都不是十全十美的。
None of them is from Beijing.他們這些人中沒有一個是北京人。
None of the machines are made in China.這些機器全都不是中國造的。
None of the machines is good enough.這些機器中沒有一臺是夠好的。
但是,在很多情況下,這種界線并不很清楚,因此,單復數(shù)兩種形式都可以用。例如:
None of his friends has/have ever been to London.他的朋友中沒有一個去過倫敦。(或:他的朋友全都沒有去過倫敦。)
None of the telephones is/are working.這些電話沒有一部能用。(或:這些電話全都不能用。)
3. You remember my friend who helped me out?你記得曾經(jīng)幫助我擺脫困境的那位朋友嗎?
這是一個用陳述句語序構(gòu)成的疑問問(=Do you remember my friend…?),讀時句末用升調(diào)。這種句式通常只在口語中使用。例如:
You want to know whyI’m leaving?你想知道我為什么要走嗎?
You know who he is?你知道他是誰嗎?
短語動詞 help out 意為:幫忙(做某事;克服困難等)。例如:
Jim often helps out in that chain store after school.吉姆經(jīng)常在放學后在那家連鎖店幫忙。
Sometimes the students go to the farm to help out with the farm work.有時學生們?nèi)マr(nóng)場幫助干些農(nóng)活。
