[用法]not和all,both或every連用,為部分否定

[舉例]Not all the answers are right.

Every book is not worth reading.

[注意]全部否定可用如下形式:

None of the books is/are right.

Neither of the books is useful.

No one can read the book.

5>If only they could find a way to get to the room.

if only...

[用法]1.表示愿望,意為'要是...就好了'.句中常用虛擬語氣形式.用一般過去時表示對現(xiàn)在的愿望;

用過去完成時或could have done表示對過去的愿望;用過去將來時表示對將來的愿望.

2.引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句,意為'只要'

[舉例]If only you had worked with great care.

If only it clears up,we'll go.

6>He was just about to say sth when Peter turned around.

be about to do...when...

[用法]正要做..這時候(發(fā)生某事).when為并列連詞,相當(dāng)于and at that time
