2)“挑剔的,苛求的”,通常指過分地注意或涉及細節(jié)和細微區(qū)別。

be particular about(講究/挑剔)與in particular(特別地)是比較常用的習(xí)慣用法。
4. advance
該詞的關(guān)鍵是要注意它作動詞時的不同含義,記憶時要把握住其本意“(使)向……前/上” ,再按漢語習(xí)慣靈活地翻譯。

He was advanced to the rank of captain. 他被提升為上尉。
