狀語從句的省略結(jié)構(gòu)

在英語中,當(dāng)主句和從句的主語一致且從句的位于動(dòng)詞含有be或是it is/was..結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí),通?砂褟木渲械闹髡Z和be動(dòng)詞省略。

Eg. When (you are) crossing the street , you must be careful.

If (I am) invited, I’ll attend the party.

①truth n.真實(shí)性;真相,事實(shí);真理,原理 (adj. true ; adv. truly)

Eg.There is not much truth in his story.他的故事沒有多少真實(shí)性.

in truth事實(shí)上 ;

to tell (you) the truth說老實(shí)話,說真的 ;

sth. come true…實(shí)現(xiàn),成為現(xiàn)實(shí)

②that (句中的第一個(gè)that引導(dǎo) 從句;第二個(gè)that (或this)相當(dāng)與so,意思是 “那么(或這么)”,修飾形容詞或副詞)

思考:除了that, so意為“如此”,表示程度以外,還有哪個(gè)詞也有這種用法?試舉例說明

too…to do sth .太...而不能…;這一結(jié)構(gòu)中,后面的不定式to do sth.前可加上邏輯賓語:構(gòu)成too…for sth./sb. to do sth.。

Eg. The book is too difficult for him to understand.

4.As she walked along, she heard the sound of footsteps, but by the time she reached the corner of the street , the footsteps were gone. (page2, lines 21-22)

句中g(shù)one為形容詞,一般作表語,表示“消失;去世;離開”。

Eg. The days when we could only study English on the radio are gone.

翻譯:老師開會(huì)回來時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)學(xué)生們都已離開。

find oneself doing sth. “發(fā)現(xiàn)自己(不知不覺地)干某事或出于某種情況”

find+賓語+賓語補(bǔ)足語中賓補(bǔ)可以為形容詞,副詞,名詞,介詞短語,過去分詞,動(dòng)詞-ing形式。

Eg. After walking for two hous, they found themselves coming to a small river in the forest.

Then I found myself surrounded by a group of children.

注意:find 后的賓補(bǔ)一般不用不定式,但可用to be, 且?墒∪。

with somebody doing 在句中充當(dāng)伴隨狀語,修飾動(dòng)詞stand 。

Eg. The baby was lying quietly with his mother (sing) softly at his bedside.

這是一個(gè)主從復(fù)合句,that引導(dǎo)一個(gè)定語從句,修飾 ,在定語從句中有一個(gè)when引導(dǎo)的 從句。

Eg. Obama answered the questions that the reporters asked when he returned from Mexico.

This is the gift (that) when I was 15 years old.

7.A blind person like me can’t get across the road without help, except in a fog like this.(page 3,lines54-55)

①get across 表示“穿過(馬路,橋等);使人了解,解釋清楚”

Eg: The bridge fell down just after we got across it.

I just can’t get across to him.

②except 是介詞,表示“除…外”,其后所接的內(nèi)容不包括在句中所指內(nèi)容的范圍以內(nèi),常與all, every 等詞連用。

Eg. I like all kinds of music except jazz. 我喜歡各種音樂,除了爵士樂。(不喜歡爵士樂)

I go to school by bike except when it is raining.除雨天外我都騎車上學(xué)。(雨天不騎車)

注意:besides 與 except 含義不同。前者表示“除了…還…”,其后所接的內(nèi)容包括在句中所致內(nèi)容的范圍以內(nèi),常與more,other, else,also等詞連用。

Besides football, I’m also interested in volleyball and badminton.

除了足球,我還對(duì)排球和羽毛球感興趣。(也對(duì)足球感興趣)
