[注意] 接that從句時(shí)用虛擬語氣 (should)do。

4. (Page18, Line11) It be + 被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分(通常是主語、賓語或狀語)+ that +句子其他部分。當(dāng)被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分指人且做主語時(shí),可用who代that, 被強(qiáng)調(diào)的部分指人且做賓語時(shí), 可用whom代that..

It之后的be 常用is或was, 視that之后的句子的時(shí)態(tài)而定。如果that之后的句子用的是過去的某種時(shí)態(tài),則用was; 如果that之后的句子用的是現(xiàn)在的某種時(shí)態(tài)或一般將來時(shí),則用is。有時(shí)可用must be, must have been, can’t be, may/might be 等表示推測(cè)的謂語形式。

★ 此句型也可寫成:not only…but…或not only…but…as well的形式,但but(also)引導(dǎo)的句子須用正常語序。

e.g.: Not until he returned did we have supper. = We didn’t have supper until he returned.

Not until 10:00 in the morning can he fall asleep. = He can’t fall asleep until 10:00 in the morning.

★如果not until引導(dǎo)的是句子,until從句的主謂不可倒裝則是主句需倒裝。

e.g.: Not until she began to speak did I realize she was my primary school teacher.
