第一課時(shí)

Section A

Step 1 Free Talk

Ask “What do you usually do after school? Can you surf the Internet at home after school? Can you go out at night? Can you play basketball every day?”

Talk about these questions.

Step 2 Presentation

Tell the students, “We can use another similar way to express ‘can do sth’.” Then help the students say, “ I can go out at night. I’m allowed to go out at night. I can’t surf the Internet every day. I’m not allowed to surf the Internet.” Point out “be allowed to” and it’s Chinese meaning “被允許”.

Step 3 Reading

Get the students to read the sentences. After understanding, choose “A” or “D”.

A point:

get their ears pierced

get sth done 結(jié)構(gòu) get “使,讓”,done是過(guò)去分詞在這里表被動(dòng),此結(jié)構(gòu)的含義為“讓別人去做某事”,也可用have sth done.

例:I’ll get / have my hair cut tomorrow.

Step 4 Listening

Listen to the tape about 1b. Check the answers. Then ask the students to read the listening materials.

Step 5 Listening

Listen to the tape and circle “Agrees” “Disagrees” or “Doesn’t know ”in 2a. Listen again and number in 2b. Read the Listening text and understand it.

Step 6 Pairwork

Ask the students to discuss about what teenagers should be allowed to do and what tennagers should not be allowed to do. Then ask some to say their ideas out.

第二課時(shí)

Step 1 Revision

Talk about what the teenagers should be or should not be allowed to do.

Step 2 Grammar Focus

Read the sentences in the Grammar Focus and translate them into Chinese. Make the students grasp the use of “should (not) be allowed to”. Point out it is Active Voice.

Step 3 A game

Have a competition of making sentences about “school rules” using “be / be not allowed to” between boys and girls.

Step 4 Reading

Say “Do you have family rules? Maybe everyone has family rules. Then let’s look at the rules in Sun Fei and Wu Yu’s house.”

Read the conversation by two groups in 3a. Finish the chart below it. Check the answer by asking different students.

A point:

So do we. 這是倒裝句。表示“我們也一樣“。承接上文,本句相當(dāng)于:We have a lot of rules at my house, too.

So + 助動(dòng)詞 /情態(tài)動(dòng)詞 / be動(dòng)詞+ 主語(yǔ) 用來(lái)表示“…..也一樣”。

例:I am a student. My brother is a student, too.

= I am a student. So is my brother.

Lin Tao can play basketball. Wang Xin can play basketball, too.

= Lin Tao can play basketball. So can Wang Xin.

They like English. So do we.

= They like English. We like English, too.

Step 5 Pairwork

Make similar dialogues to the one in 3b according to the one in 3a in pairs at first. Then ask pairs to practice.

Homework:

Recite the conversation in 3a.

第三課時(shí)

Section B

Step 1 Warming up

Say out the class rules as quickly as possible.

Step 2 Survey

Put up some phrase cards on the blackboard. Ask “Do you every do these things? How often do you do these things?”

Then after talking, come to 1a, ask the students to write “A” “U” “S” and “N”.

Step 3 Talking

Talk about the things in 1a with partners using the conversation similar to 1b.

Step 4 Listening

Listen to the tape. Finish 2a and 2b. Make sure the students understand the listening text.

Step 2 Reading

Before reading, understand the five questions below the passage. Ask the students to scan it and then answer the five questions. Then comprehend the passage.

Ask the students to read the passage after the tape.

Step 3 Practice

According to the passage, ask the students to make up conversations using the information in 3a.

第五課時(shí)

Step 1 Revision

Review the contents of the passage in 3a. Ask some students to retell it.

Step 2 Self check

For Ex 1, get the students to fill in each blank with the words given after they understand the meaning of every word.

For Ex 2, first read, then comprehend it. Then write a letter. Share some students’ letters at last.
