Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman:
Have you ever been confused about your college life? Have you ever suffered from peer pressure? Have you ever stuck for interpersonal relationships? What do you do with it?When it comes to them–-My answer becomes devotion is my therapy.
Last year, to pluck myself from this sticky situation mentioned , I determined to work as a volunteer teacher to alleviate my distress. I taught a small class and encountered from a tough nut. One student, a 9- year-old girl ,arrived an hour late for the first online class. Feeling disrespected, so angry was I that I texted her father emotionally. However,beyond my expectation, her father just apologized politely, "I am sorry, teacher. Im outside and her grandmother has no idea how to use the phone. so........" And he added genuinely," Upon returning home , I will get all the things prepared." Never did I grow so touched and ashamed in my life. So I would particularly remind her father one day earlier than the class. Consequencely， never did absencehappen again. It occurred to me that I should develop the empathy to other people. What you see is not what it looks like.This helped me out of negative emotions. When stuck in interpersonal issues, it reminds me that I can put myself into others shoes. When puzzled about my college life, it reminds me that I can devote and add value to my life.
Ladies and gentleman , as the old proverb says,"Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves." From my inner heart, I really recommend that we can bring sunshine to others . We can go to the welfare home to accompany the elderly, join some green environmental organizations to assist garbage collectors and so on. Lets make devotion our therapy!

Hi, everyone, my name is jia xx. i am from shijiazhuang and in grade 5. today my topic is “ my sweet home”.
There is an old saying “east and west, home is best.” so, we can see how important home is to everybody. i’ve got a sweet home because it is cozy. my family lives in a flat. the sitting room is the biggest and my room is the smallest, but it is a world of my own. the wall is white, the curtain is pretty, the bed is comfortable and the bookshelf is filled with different kinds of books. in the right hand corner is the zheng, a traditional chinese musical instrument, and on the table is the computer. when i feel tired, i can play computer games; and when i feel depressed, playing the zheng can cheer me up. this is my sweet home, where i can find peace and comfort.
I’ve got a sweet home because it is full of love. my dad loves me. he is kind and patient. it is my dad who watches outlook english magazine with me; it is also my dad who is ready to answer my questions. my mom loves me, too. she is considerate and hardworking. every day when i go home from school, the rooms are always clean and tidy. every time when i play out and forget dinnertime, it is also my mom who calls me back with her tender voice, “come home, my little darling, dinner is ready”.

Good afternoon, dear teachers and classmates. I appreciate that I can stand here to introduce myself.
Im from grade one of Hengshui high school. I am Zhang xiaoming.
I love English, I like "the star of hope", and I come to this stage for the second time. Yeah, I came here last year. And I won the first prize of Hengshui division, but I have to give up the provincial tournament, because I have to study hard to face the entrance examination for high school. And my goal is Hengshui high school. Now, I came to this stage from Hengshui high school, and I’m still excited.
Today, I ‘d like to share the theme of "persistence" with you.
Since childhood, I’ve been fond of Observing of little grass, snails and eagles. It is because of the insistence, the grass just come out of the earth; because of the insistence, snails climb a tree step by step; because of the insistence, the eagles learn to fly in the sky.
For me, I like reading and writing. I also learn to adhere to do what I like. I keep writing something for a few years. And I have written nearly a hundred good articles. I collected them in a book and gave it a name: "listen to the sound of flowers". And I hope it will be published someday.
We have had several exams since I entered Hengshui High school. Sometimes I was happy and sometimes I was sad because of the score. But I told myself not to give up. I have to hold a belief in the heart and keep studying hard.I firmly believe that nothing is impossible but the fear from heart.
Learning in high school is just like going uphill. you will fall behind if you don’t make a progress. I believe that if I continue to keep the spirit of perseverance, I will be closer to my dream..

今天，我想和大家分享“堅持”這個主題。
我，從小我就喜歡觀察小草、蝸牛和雛鷹。大家也知道正是因為“堅持”，小草才能從地里出來，因為堅持，蝸牛才能一步一步爬上大樹；因為堅持，雛鷹才學(xué)會了在空中自由飛翔。
對我來說，我喜歡閱讀和寫作。我也學(xué)會堅持做我喜歡做的事。我連續(xù)寫了幾年的東西，寫了將近一百多篇還說的過去的文章。我將它們收集成一本書，給它起了個名字，叫“花開的聲音”，我希望有一天能出版。
自從進入衡水高中以來，已經(jīng)進行了幾次考試。有時候快樂，有時候也會因為分?jǐn)?shù)不好而難過，但我時刻提醒自己，要堅持、不放棄。我要堅信自己的決心，不斷地努力學(xué)習(xí)。我堅信除了內(nèi)心的恐懼，沒有什么是不可能的。

Good afternoon, dear judges. Today my speech is “I love black-faced spoonbill.
On a beautiful winter day, I happened to meet the lovely spirit——
Black Faced Spoonbill, a type of migratory bird, which spends winter at Hong-Shu-Lin in my city every year. Covered with snow-white feathers, it has black legs and a black beak. Besides the blacks and whites, an amazing splash of yellow is under its neck. So elegant that I couldn’t help loving it at first sight.
With a big and spoon-shaped beak, it can clasp fishes easily, which makes it a powerful hunter in birds.
However, with human expansion and pollution, only around 2000 ones are living all over the world.
Like the eleven swan princes in Andersen’s Fairy Tale, the Black Faced Spoonbills have always been struggling to find a tiny rock which can offer them a momentary tranquility. Fortunately, they have found one in my beloved home. I would always hold them dearly to my heart and wish they would return with flocks of chicks in the following years, and singing……
Oh, I have a home, such a beautiful home, where I play and rest happily.
Oh, give them a home, such a wonderful home, where the spoonbills play all day.

Hello everyone!
My name is Tiffany, a Year 2 student from the University of Macau. I am currently an active member of the university Public Speaking Team, president of the Honours College Student Association, and also the vice president of the event department in Marketing Society. I am very active and outgoing. I enjoy being with people, engaged in conversations with them so that I can understand them more. I like public speaking as it can help increase my self-esteem and self-confidence. Aside from public speaking, I am also good at English recitation. I have joined the Macao-wide English Individual Recitation for a number of times when I was studying in the secondary school.
Imagine a car without a steering wheel. Tough to imagine, right? Well, actually that’s the image you see if a person has no faith. Faith helps to guide us in our lives, encourage us to persist, and give directions when we are lost.
In this peaceful era, our life paths seem to be already well-planned and determined. What we have to do is to follow. Yes, we may face different sorts of challenges, but at least they are less harsh when compared to those in the past. We do not need to worry about starving to death, or how to earn enough money to buy food for our siblings and sustain our lives.
It is like driving from a muddy road into a highway. In the muddy road, path, you would say, as it is formed only by crossing on it many times, flattening the ground to form a smoother area so we can pass. The road is so bumpy and rough, with holes here and there and rocks lying all over. When we drive along this road, we have to be very careful, having a firm grip on the steering wheel, ready for a sudden turn or a large boulder that may appear any second. However, when we drive on a highway, everything becomes different. The road is smooth, straight, and visible. Since there is no unseen obstacle, we may lower our guard, relax a bit, and loosen our grip on the steering wheel. One may even think, if we only have to drive on a smooth straight road like this highway, why would we need a steering wheel?
Nevertheless, one cannot foresee the future. Accidents do happen. For example, a car may suddenly appear in front of you. At such times, if you did not have the steering wheel, how could you make a sudden turn? Just as no one could foresee the Sichuan Earthquake nor the Japan Tsunami. If the one being trapped under the debris did not have faith, he/she would not have survived until being rescued. If we did not have faith, we could not recover from our sadness and rebuild our home.
Faith is unique, just as happiness is. We feel happy for different reasons, we believe for different things. How can we know what we believe in? Recall the last time you are discouraged, and you felt you had lost all hopes in your life. What pulled you back into the world? What pushed you to stand up and continue to strive again? That is your faith, your belief. Faith is what makes you feel you can when others say you can’t.
Faith is important…, faith is vital…, faith is necessary for us to live our lives. If we do not have faith, we are like a car without a steeling wheel. We can only afford to move along a straight and smooth path, and cannot meet any challenge in our lives. One must understand that no matter how smooth the road is, it is impossible for a car to go without a steering wheel. Or, put it in another way, have you ever seen a car without a steering wheel on the road? So, act now, my friends, find out what you believe in, find out your anchor in your life, hold on to your steeling wheel of your car, drive on, and reach your destination.

信仰是重要的，信仰是至關(guān)重要的，信仰是我們生活所必需的。如果我們沒有信念，我們就像一輛沒有鋼輪的汽車。我們只能沿著一條筆直而平坦的道路前進，而不能面對生活中的任何挑戰(zhàn)。人們必須明白，無論道路多么平坦，沒有方向盤的汽車是不可能行駛的�；蛘撸瑩Q句話說，你見過路上沒有方向盤的汽車嗎?所以，現(xiàn)在就行動吧，我的朋友們，找到你的信仰，找到你生命中的錨，抓住你的汽車的鋼輪，繼續(xù)前進，到達(dá)你的目的地。
