英語(yǔ)作文 篇1
Last week, the teacher gave us a task to write a paper about the old China. I maDe up the group with another three classmates.
As we did not have much information, we decided to take a short trip to visit the famous museum. It took us two hours to reach the city.
When we arrived the museum, we saw the big statue of Deng Xiaoping, and his great image made us admire him immediately.
There were so many statues and pictures of great persons, who fought for the new China and made what we are today. Their stories were so touching.
When facing emergent situation, they chose to sacrifice themselves. After visiting the museum, I learned a lot and had enough materials. This trip was so amazing, I knew what we have today came not easy, so we needed to cherish the life we had.

What strikes one first in a bird's -eye view of Beijing proper is a vast tract of golden roofs flashing brilliantly in the sun with purple walls occasionally emerging amid them and a stretch of luxuriant tree leaves flanking on each side. That is the former Imperial Palace, popularly known as the Forbidden City, from which twenty-four emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties ruled China for some 500 years——from1420 to 1911. The Ming Emperor Yong Le, who usurped the throne from his nephew and made Beijing the capital, ordered its construction, on which approximately 10,000 artists and a million workmen toiled for 14 years from 1406 to 1420. 英語(yǔ)作文 篇3
Study the picture above carefully and write an essay entitled “The Adaptation of the Classical Literature”. In the essay, you should (1) describe the picture (2) interpret its meaning (3) give your opinion about the phenomenon. You should write about 200 words neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)
The picture gives us a view of a popular phenomenon: the adaptation of the classics. Some classical literary works, such as our four great classics i.e. A Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Heroes of the Marshes, are all adapted to cater to some readers’ tastes. The traditional characters become so strange and the plots are totally different. It is so ridiculous that the precious literary treasures are allowed to be ruined so much.
As we all know, the classical literature is the representation of the outstanding art of our nation. Some familiar characters such as Monkey King express the good wishes of our common people. From them, we learn many good virtues such as honesty, bravery, justice etc. However, in those adapted works named “Bantering***”or “Reboiling***”, all plots are changed and all characters become somewhat watered clown. Some readers interested in reading burlesque works have high praise for them. But they never think of the negative effects of such adaptations on the average reader, especially to children. Children are the future of the nation. They always believe that what is in the books is the truth. Those adapted works will affect their outlook on life.
Therefore, some measures should be taken to restrict these adaptations. The real classics should be presented on the bookshelves to lead people to appreciate the real art.
英語(yǔ)作文 篇4
We grow great by dreams
The question was once asked of a highly successful businessman, “How have you done so much in your lifetime?”
He replied, “I have dreamed. I have turned my mind loose to imagine what I wanted to do. Then I have gone to bed and thought about my dreams. In the night I dreamt about my dreams. And when I awoke in the morning, I saw the way to make my dreams real. While other people were saying, ‘You can’t do that, it is impossible,’ I was well on my way to achieving what I wanted. As Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the US, said, ‘We grow great by dreams.’”
“All big men are dreamers.” They see things in the soft haze of a spring day, or in the red fire on a long winter’s evening.
Some of us let these dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nourish them through bad days until they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.
So please, don’t let anyone steal your dreams, or try to tell you they are too impossible. “Sing your songs, and dream your dreams, hope your hope and pray your prayer.”

One possible version:
The passage is about a successful businessman whose dreams contributed greatly to his success. He emphasized the importance of dreams and suggested that people should have dreams and never give them up.
What is known to us is that a dream is of great importance to one’s growth and success. Once you decide what your dream is, you know where to go, and which way to take.
Now my dream is that I’ll try my best to be the study winner. Now everything I do is close to my dream. I feel life is filled with hope and is colorful, and I have enough confidence to realize my dream. Of course, the path from where you are to where you want to get is not always smooth and straight. Therefore, an optimistic, positive mind is necessary in the process of your seeking your dream.
In a word, only if you have a dream will you have the chance of realizing it.

英語(yǔ)作文 篇6
Today, a growing number of commercial (商業(yè)性的) advertisements jump into TV programs, which is a controversial issue.
Television advertisements have positive aspects. First, they can provide viewers with valuable information about merchandise. Second, the wide spread of TV ads may also stimulate the economy. Finally, these commercials (廣告) often finance the operation cost of television stations.
However, television advertisements also have negative aspects. In the first place, these ads often interrupt interesting programs. Besides, some ads may be highly unreliable if they are motivated by profit. What is more, ads may increase people's greed by encouraging them to own so called "valuable" products. Finally, some TV ads give viewers a false sense of reality by promising that certain products will make potential customers lucky, attractive, rich and successful.
Weighing the positive and negative aspects, I think that we should turn TV ads to their best advantage. TV ads should be carefully examined and scientifically edited before they are allowed to become a part of people's life. TV stations and producers should treat TV ads as their good servant, not their bad master.
