on one hand, the highest social animal as human being is, any individual has his specific role in a certain society. and this specific role gives one social identity and individual responsibility through education in schools and influence of ethical and moral standards. though some times one would feel that the certain responsibility is obligation from the society and organizations rather than his ＇individual responsibility＇ at first, in most cases, the accountability would presumably become one＇s own eventually followed by the final identification of his specific social identity, and then direct one＇s behaviors without the force from the eterior world. for eample, a soldier would think it is his duty to obey the rules without any hesitation; a surgeon would consider healing the patients as his accountability; and a historian would feel it is his responsibility to discover what is behind the historical descriptions. in fact, different careers and roles form diverse individual responsibilities, which result in individuals’voluntary behaviors.

If you Google“the 71st Anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre”(in Chinese)on the Internet，you will be impressed by the video show of a girl’s special commemoration.After watching the video.I Was wondering where college students were.Taking into consideration their indifference to other historic events such as the May 4 Movement，we can conclude that college students lack the due social responsibilities.
However，we should not simply criticize their indifference，and analysis should be made to reckon with underlying reasons.Firstly，college students are imposed excessive pressure by the job market.They have to pay more attention to their studies.Secondly，many students believe that the history has already been borne in mind，and it is unnecessary to commemorate historic anniversaries each year.For them，it is better to internalize the humiliated history and work hard than to hold ceremonies without concrete contents.
To my way of thinking，college students should not keep silent on those occasions.It is our responsibilities to voice Our aspirations and let the society know that we have not forgotten the history.

The concept of individual responsibility is a necessary fiction. Although societies must hold individuals accountable for their own actions, peoples behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making.

Admittedly it is true that forces play a vital role in determining peoples behavior, but one should not go too far to deny the equal importance of individual responsibility. In many cases, it is individual responsibility that is at stake, far over the use of forces.
In the first place, forces are not omnipotent and there are many occasions on which forces fail to take effect and therefore must resort to individual responsibility to regulate peoples behavior. Take marital infidelity for example. Undoubtedly, this behavior is immoral and should be condemned because it severely harms the stability of family and thus impacts negative effects on the development of children. However,hardly can the use of compulsory forces such as laws take effect in preventing the occurrence of this disloyal behavior. The reason for impotency of forces on this occasion is that any attempt to prevent marital infidelity has a great possibility to unduly interfere with individual affairs and seriously violate individual freedom.Therefore, the society has no choice but to turn to individual responsibility for marital loyalty and stability of family.
